Our office combined insurance policy was about to fall due for renewal when I was contacted by Sustain Insurance Brokers. I was interested in their proposition, particularly given that their values around sustainability aligned with our own.
Stuart, an Insurance Practitioner with Sustain, held an initial meeting with us to properly understand our business and ensure that any coverage he was to recommend would accurately meet with our requirements. We had been given notice by our previous Professional Indemnity insurer that they were no longer able to provide us with a policy limit which suited our requirements. They also told us that despite this reduction in coverage, the cost of our policy was going to be significantly more expensive.
We had been speaking with an alternative insurance broker and had been assured by both them and the incumbent that they had tried to obtain insurance from every possible insurer but had been unsuccessful. We were introduced to Sustain only a few days before the renewal of our existing policy. Given the seriousness of the potential consequences, Sustain attached two senior members of their team to our project. They took the time to properly understand our business, reviewed the contracts which underpinned the work we do for our clients and mapped out the level of potential liabilities for insurers.
